Palmer's Chiropractic Principles

Hi, Mike Tannenbaum, D.C. chiropractor in Ann Arbor with another installment of my analysis of B.J. Palmer's 33 principles of chiropractic (and life). As mentioned earlier B.J. Palmer is the son of the founder of chiropractic, D.D. Palmer.

Principle 8

The function of intelligence is to create force.

I think what Palmer is trying to say here is that intelligence is a tool that can be used to create force and thus it can be said that the force is the end result of intelligence. For example, a thought one has is a force/energy that was created by ones intelligence. Another example might be that intelligence heals your body and this healing process/energy created by your bodies intelligence is a force. I think one could make an analogy, that I think Palmer would agree with, that if the nerve impulses coming from your brain, which are created by your intelligence, are somehow interfered with the force would be considered a improperly working force and thus causing you ill health. You could go on to say here that your intelligence is still creating force, but not a “good” force. To take this even further it could be said that if you experience back pain, neck pain, tingling and numbness or headaches, the force, created by your intelligence, is not a healthy force. Chiropractors might say that in humans who have back pain, ones nerve impulses, created by your intelligence, are not functioning properly. Finally here, chiropractors work to make sure the nerve impulses formed by intelligence work properly so that you can function with as close to %100 health as possible and thus will not experience back pain.
