Gratitude

~~From the desk of Ann Arbor Chiropractor Mike Tannenbaum, D.C.

One of the new years goals I have for myself and for my staff at Tannenbaum Chiropractic in Ann Arbor is to show more gratitude. There is plenty of cynicism and negative thoughts in this world and I know that the world would be a better place if people would show more gratitude. Showing more gratitude shouldn't be that hard as there is a lot to be grateful for. Furthermore, studies have shown that being grateful is good for your health. Some of the benefits of having a grateful attitude and which I stress to my patients, as a chiropractor in my Ann Arbor office, are the following.

People that demonstrate gratefulness tend to have a healthier social well-being and healthier      relationships with others. These people tend to be more forgiving and have more satisfactory relationships.

Studies demonstrate that those that receive gratitude are more likely to do good deeds.

Thankfulness/gratitude tends to lead to less depression and anxiety.

Those that express gratitude tend to pursue a healthier diet, exercise more and demonstrate a overall healthier life style.

Gratitude has been shown to promote a stronger immune system.

Those that regularly show gratitude have been shown to sleep better than those that don't regularly    show gratitude.
