An Active Life Style and Chiropractic

From the desk of Ann Arbor chiropractor Michael Tannenbaum, D.C.

We all know that an active lifestyle is good for you: much better for you than a sedentary lifestyle. An active lifestyle means focusing on promoting healthy physical, mental, and social well-being (and yes, it should include exercise as a major component).

One of the major positive results of an active lifestyle is prevention. Basically, an active lifestyle helps you prevent illness – while promoting and maintaining health – so that you won't tend to get sick as often and you’re more likely to live longer. More specifically, benefits of an active lifestyle include better heart health, a lower stress level, and better mental health. Studies demonstrate a correlation with improved physical, mental, and social well-being for those people who maintain an active lifestyle.

At my Ann Arbor chiropractic office, we're always promoting an active lifestyle. We recommend people exercise regularly, do mentally healthful activities like reading (instead of watching TV), eat healthful food, try to reduce stress in their lives, and – of course – have regular chiropractic treatments.
