Multiple Sclerosis and Chiropractic

From The Desk Of Mike Tannenbaum, D.C.

This week I had a “feel good” kind of case. I treated a new patient that had numerous complaints such as back pain, tingling and numbness through out her body, general stiffness, serious balance issues and so on. Most of her complaints were related to second stage progressive Multiple Sclerosis (MS) she suffered from. This patient told me she has had tingling and numbness and balance problems for years due to the MS and more recently she slipped causing her to have severe low back pain. The patient also told me that she had been very depressed and unhappy because of the symptoms caused by the MS. Well, after examining and taking x-rays, I treated the patient with a chiropractic adjustment(s). I saw the patient two days later and she was euphoric because, she said, she experienced immediate positive benefits from the adjustment. She said, a lot of the tingling and numbness disappeared, her low back pain was much improved and she felt her balance was considerably better. She also said, that for the first time in years she had hope for a happier life. I again treated the patient and then again saw her at the end of week where she said, she continued to notice improvement. Although, the improvement after the second treatment was not as dramatic as after the first treatment, the patient was still extremely pleased with the results. The patient now feels more enthusiastic about trying to improve her place in life and has a more positive outlook on her future.

By the way, there are numerous case studies showing that chiropractic can help people with MS.
