I believe these people have made the right decision in coming to see me as we at our chiropractic office in Ann Arbor and chiropractors in general, have great success helping people get rid of migraine headaches as well as other types of headaches. As a matter of fact, there are a number of studies that tout the effectiveness of chiropractic in treating headaches.

So, what are migraine headaches? They are a type vascular headache that is usually accompanied by severe head pain and face pain that is generally most noticeable around the eyes and temple area.  Often the headache sufferer will feel nausea, sweating or cold hands, have sensitivity to light or sounds, may be hypersensitive to their head being touched, may have pale facial color and may experience pulsating head pain. Migraine headaches are sometimes preceded by an aura of visual waves, dots or flashing lights. Migraine headaches can be debilitating to the sufferer. Many migraine headache sufferers feel as though they have to stay in bed with the lights off and curtains drawn until the headache passes.

My experience as a chiropractor in Ann Arbor has shown me that almost anyone who suffers from migraine headaches has some misalignment of there neck bones. Furthermore, I believe here in lies the reason why chiropractic so successfully treats migraine headaches. That is, chiropractors adjust peoples vertebrae (bones of the spine)  putting the vertebrae into proper alignment and in doing so restore proper nerve function and thus ending the migraine headache (and ending a variety of other health issues the patient  may have).
