Chiropractors Take On Conservative Health Care

Another blog post from Ann Arbor chiropractor, Mike Tannenbaum, D.C.: Conservative Health Care Is Often the Best Type of Health Care

Chiropractic care is the conservative form of health care that should be your first choice when it comes to health care, and it’s what we promote at our Ann Arbor chiropractic office. What do we mean by conservative in this sense? (It’s got nothing to do with politics.)

Too often people go for a “quick fix/after the fact” approach to health care. That is, people often wait for a problem to occur and then take a pill or have surgery in an attempt to quickly manage the problem. Unfortunately, this approach often doesn’t fix the problem and in the long run (or short run) the problem may become worse, because the root cause of the problem has not been addressed. In addition, the medicine taken or surgery performed with this quick-fix approach may come with long-term negative side effects.

Conservative care, on the other hand, is a type of care that uses a more cautiously moderate and preventive approach to health care. That is, with conservative care one tries to prevent a problem before it begins by helping maintain a healthful lifestyle. Then, if a health issue arises, one attempts to remedy the problem without the use of drugs or surgery. For conservative care and preventive care, chiropractic is ideal. Chiropractic has been shown to help prevent illness, as well as help remedy illness.

Some health issues or conditions which chiropractic has been shown to help:

Headaches

Middle ear infections

Knee, ankle, foot, shoulder, wrist, hand, and other joint pain
