Chiropractic and Pregnancy
From The Desk of Dr. Mike Tannenbaum, D.C.
As a Chiropractor in Ann Arbor, I regularly see women who are pregnant. They come to see me because they know or have heard that chiropractic is a zero pharmaceutical, non-invasive , non-surgical way to get rid of or ease pregnancy related pain. These women also may have heard that chiropractic care can help make the birth process easier....that is, with fewer complications and less invasive interventions. In my practice, I see this to be true and a number of studies back this up. Studies also back up that chiropractic treatments while pregnant are safe.
More than any other condition, pregnant women see me to help them relieve pregnancy related low back pain, but I also might see these women for upper back pain, pelvis pain, headaches and other pregnancy related conditions.
Again, many women see me because they have had heard that having regular chiropractic care while pregnant can make for an easier, smoother, less complicated pregnancy and birth process. So, if you’re pregnant, I would highly recommend you look into chiropractic care.
