Force, Intelligence and Matter Another of Palmer's Priniciples

From the desk of Ann Arbor Chiropractor, Dr. Mike Tannenbaum, D.C.

Again we will discuss another of B.J. Palmer's 33 principles of chiropractic.

Principle 4

Life is a triunity having three necessary united factors,

namely, Intelligence, Force, and Matter.

This idea of triunity of life is very important to Palmer. What Palmer is trying to say here is what we discussed earlier when examining Palmer's principle that you must have matter and intelligence to have life, but now Palmer adds another component that is a prerequisite for life and that is force. He is saying, for matter and intelligence to link together you must have force An example of this force for humans is electric impulses/electricity produced by the human brain. (Palmer might also be saying that there is force outside the living that allows matter and intelligence to combine to form life.)

As far as the human nerve system goes, one can extrapolate Palmer's idea to say that if your nerve system (electrical system of the body) is not working properly you will have ill health. I.e. it's internal intelligence is not able to work properly with the body tissue/matter. This is often seen for example, when people have back pain, neck pain, tingling and numbness or headaches that are caused by pinched and or irritated nerves.
