B.J. Palmer's Principle 29

In this blog post I will discuss another of B.J. Palmer's principles of chiropractic.

Principle 29

There can be interference with the transmission of Innate forces.

This principle is something I have often talked about in my previous blog posts and is something that is a very basic and important part of the science, art and philosophy of chiropractic. Simply, this principle says that there can be interference to the transmission of impulses/signals (the impulses originate in the brain) that travel through the nerve/conducting system. There are volumes written about this and what will happen when this nerve impulse transmission is interfered with. Basically, though, when the nerve system is compromised the nerve impulses change. You may not know it but, all tissue systems and organs of the body expect particular nerve impulses in order to function correctly and if tissue, systems or organs receive changed/incorrect nerve impulses then the body functions in a unhealthy/non optimal way. A simple example of this would be that if a muscle of the body receives the wrong nerve impulse the muscle reacts by spasming/tighting/cramping which is bad for that muscle.

Back pain, neck pain, headaches, tingling and numbness in legs and arms are generally the result of the body not getting the correct nerve impulses. Chiropractors work to mitigate the nerve interference causing incorrect nerve impulses so to stop the pain and to make your body as healthy as possible.
