Chirorpractic Treatments

~~People come to my Ann Arbor chiropractic office with many different ailments, such as neck pain, low back pain, headaches and tingling a numbness in their legs or arms.  With the help of chiropractic most of my patients get better. Often and predictably, patients tell me, after a certain number of treatments, that the last treatment was the one that made them feel better. I tell the patients that it wasn't the last treatment that made them feel better, but it was the cumulative affect of all the previous chiropractic treatments that made them feel better. When explaining the cumulative effect of chiropractic treatments I sometimes use the analogy of titration. This is an analogy many chiropractors learned in chiropractic school. Titration is a term used in chemistry meaning the last drop of one substance added to another substance makes a new substance. That is, all the drops together finally made a new substance and that with out all the previous drops the last drop would have not made the substance change to the new one. And with chiropractic the last adjustment would not have made the patient feel better, rather all the previous adjustments were needed in order for that last adjustment to make the patient feel better.

I have made sure that my chiropractic assistants in my Ann Arbor office know the titration analogy so that they can us  it with patients that confide in them that the last adjustment made their back pain, neck pain, headaches, etc., disappear.  I hope you, the reader, can now let people know that chiropractic treatments works on a cumulative basis much like is seen in chemistry when changing one substance to another.
