Chiropractors Treat All Joints Of The Body

Another blog post from AnnArbor chiropractor, Mike Tannenbaum, D.C.

Every day at my Ann Arbor chiropractic office I have patients who ask me if I work on joints of the body other than the spine and shoulders. The answer is “Yes.” As a matter of fact, I'm trained to treat all the joints in the body, such as those found in the knees, elbows, wrists, feet, fingers, and toes. Chiropractic very effectively treats all joints of the body – not just those of the spine.

Some of the more common non-spinal column joint problems I treat are those that involve wrist pain, knee pain, and ankle pain.

People commonly injure their wrists due to repetitive tasks that require the use of a wrist, or by falling down and landing on their hands that are extended out. Chiropractic very simply, and non-invasively, adjusts the bones and joints in the wrist and other associated bones/joints to help remedy the wrist ailment.

Knee problems are also common. Sometimes a knee problem is associated with misaligned pelvic (or hip) bones, in which case using chiropractic adjustments to realign the bones of the pelvis often takes care of the problem. If this doesn't resolve the problem, then there are some relatively simple and non-invasive treatments that can be applied directly to the knee joint that are very effective in fixing the knee problem.

Foot problems, toe problems (sometimes even bunions), finger and hand problems – similarly to wrist and knee problems – can also be effectively treated with chiropractic.
